"GIMMIE A LITTLE DRINK" Happy New Year 2000! Sticky
Fingers was honored for their long standing working relationship with the
world famous Hard Rock Cafe chain (HardRockCafe.com)
in the year 2000. The main office in London decided to name a new drink
after the band. This was the first time in history The Hard Rock Cafe
has ever named a drink after a musical group. The unveiling of the new
drink coincided with the arrival of Sticky Fingers in Bali, during their Far
east tour of Indonesia and China. In addition to Bali, the band
performed in Jakarta, Hong Kong and Beijing. The official ingredients to
make a Sticky Fingers drink are as follows: Bacardi, Vodka, Tequila. Dry Gin,
Triple Sec, Lime Juice, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice, Grenadine, and topped
with Sprite. Just when I thought a Long Island Iced Tea packed a punch!
After returning home, Sticky Fingers toured the rest of the year at their
frequent watering holes including Hard Rock Cafes, House of Blues, Mustang
Sally's, Baby Boomers, The Toy Tiger, Six Flags, The Spectrum, Casino Magic in
Biloxi and Bay Saint Louis, MTV Beach Party at Panama City, Florida and MTV
Beach Party in Corpus Christie, TX , Club Sticky Fingers in Little Rock, and
more than we can remember.

With the new Millennium safely behind them, 2001 found Sticky Fingers in the
spotlight once again in between touring. Frontman Glen Carroll was
interviewed and graced a full page photo spread in Details magazine (Special
Music Edition, Nov. 2001). Journalist Steve Kurutz conducted the
interview. Steve's reason for the interview was simple. "The
band is great!" While attending Columbia University in New York
City, Steve would attend performances by Sticky Fingers in the world famous
music hub of Greenwich Village. The story ran in conjunction with Warner
Bros. Pictures release of Rock Star in which Mark Wahlberg stars as a singer
in a tribute band. Wahlberg is given the chance to sing with the real
band he grew up idolizing. The movie is based loosely on the real life story
of Judas Priest.
"I KNOW YOU'RE MOVING
OUT TO HOLLYWOOD" Hollywood Producer
Christopher Crowe selected Sticky Fingers again to perform for his birthday in
2002 high up in the hills of sunny California. The A-list gala event was
complete with wall to wall celebrities singing and dancing the night away to
the classic music of the Rolling Stones.
The annual Musikfest (musikfest.org)
held each summer in Bethlehem Pa, is an ideal location to see your favorite
bands or just to get away. The festival organizers recently added Sticky
Fingers to their roster of artists. Sticky Fingers performed along with Sheryl
Crow, The Neville Brothers and many more for an evening of timeless rock and
roll.
"THANK YOU FOR YOUR WINE CALIFORNIA"
2003 concert highlights
included a special charity event on September 6th in San Francisco
at the posh Broadway Studios (435 Broadway). The "Roll On
Charley" benefit is an annual benefit and their website is located at RollOnCharley.com
The sponsors and guests in attendance is testimony to part of the reason San
Francisco is one of the greatest places in the world to visit and live. Thank ya' kindly California.
San Francisco will host Sticky Fingers again when the band begins its
2004 annual tour of the West coast. The band will begin performing July
24th through August 16th with eighteen scheduled appearances throughout
California.
"GO AHEAD BITE THE BIG APPLE" B.B. King Blues Club & Grill
bbkingblues.com
(237 West 42nd St.) located in the
big apple at Times Square added Sticky
Fingers to their play roster. The band performed their debut appearance
at BB's August 16th to a sold out crowd of 800 enthusiastic fans. Sherry
Wilson of Manhattan had this to say about the band's performance at BB Kings,
"I first saw Sticky Fingers in 1978 at the shore and they totally blew me
away. Most of the people here tonight are here because they love the
Rolling Stones AND they love Sticky Fingers. Last summer I drove
all the way from New York to Tennessee in my beat up VW to see Sticky Fingers
at the Boneroo festival. They were so great! I love these guys. I
hope they last as long as the Stones have.
"FHM Magazine (FHM.com) threw
one helluva Halloween party in New York City. Rumored to be haunted, the
rusty if not rustic location was a former cargo ship that's been
transformed into an entertainment complex. The ship is permanently
docked on the upper west side of Manhattan at 57th St. Sticky
Fingers began the night of entertainment with "Sympathy For The
Devil" followed by "Gimme Shelter, Midnight Rambler, Paint It
Black, Dancing With Mr. D, Under Cover Of The Night, Can't You Hear Me Knockin',
Monkey Man, Let It Bleed, Dead Flowers" and "Jumpin' Jack
Flash." At the end of a carefully chosen first set, singer Glen
told the audience, "something for the agnostics in the crowd.
"Spring- 2004" The PGA tournament held in Augusta, GA had Glen and Sticky
Fingers rockin' in the Grand Ballroom April 9th with the "who's who"
of professional athletes, celebrities, and fans of the Rolling Stones.
Although the "19th Hole" is a favorite among most golfers, Glen
confesses to having had a moving moment on "the 20th Hole."
I didn't ask!

Nothing like some great rock and roll at a bike festival to make
things complete. The band will be performing at the Sturgis Bike Week in
South Dakota on August 12th and the public is invited. Last year the
festival drew an estimated crowd of 450,000. August 14th will find the
boys performing live at a similar bike festival for Harley Davidson
Motorcycles in Sandusky, Ohio. Again, the public is invited and bikes
are encouraged.
April 14th the band has a private party with the University of North Carolina. April
16th the boys are holding more secret sessions with the University of Sweet
Virginia and will also be returning on May 14th to UVA. April 22 has our
merry New York troubadours at Auburn University in Alabama and April 23 &
24 at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
May - June 2004 Singer Glen Carroll will be mixing and mastering
his debut solo CD during the months of May and June. Glen's album will
feature many famous names playing Glen's eclectic rock and roll songs. For the
future collector you may want to burn a copy of these songs. The link to
follow will list two songs on the upcoming release by Glen. The songs
currently available for listening or downloading are the original demos before
drums, horn sections, bass, keys, strings, harmonica and percussion
were added. Get them while you can. These demos are pure raw
rock and roll and may well be collectible someday. The finished polished
versions are even better, however, these diamonds in the rough are still gems
worth keeping. You can find them at tomguerra.com/Glen.htm
More to follow...
I would write more now, however, it's time to order room service.
Yours truly, Lady J
